Thomas Carter Braselton Sr. Obituary

Thomas Carter Braselton, Sr., 72, died January 1, 2010, with his family by his side in Corsicana, Texas.

He was born March 7, 1937 and his parents were Hubert and Virginia Braselton of Corsicana, Texas.

Carter graduated from Corsicana High School and attended Navarro Junior College. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served the first three years at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He met his wife, Anneliese R. Braselton, on his first overseas tour in Mannheim, Germany. He served 25 years in the Army with two tours to Vietnam and he received several awards of recognition during his career. He retired in Corsicana, Texas in 1981.

He spent time during his retirement helping at Family Service Association as well as other community charitable organizations in Corsicana, Texas.

Mr. Braselton is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anne; 3 daughters and their spouses, Gena Bell, Terri Braselton and Tammy Braselton; 2 sons and their spouses, Peter Embach and Thomas Braselton Jr.; sister, Claire Shahzad and her husband Reza Shahzad; nephew, spouse and family, Mike and Becky Wilson; and 7 grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gordon George, E. Scott Middleton, Keith Sykes and Mike Wilson.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 14:00 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with burial is still being arranged at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
