I was up half the night thinking about Uncle Ronnie. And when I was actually sleeping I dreamt about him.
I went to see him last week. I thought it was goodbye, but by the time I left Sunday we were actually feeling hopeful for his recovery (or some form of it). I had no idea he would have turned down hill so fast.
On Friday, when they told me he was really bad, I decided not to go again. I liked seeing him last week. We talked. He played with Zoe. That’s how I wanted to remember him.
Of course I kept second guessing myself all weekend. Should I tell him again, one last time, goodbye. But I kept telling myself no. I guess I made the right decision, I don’t know.
So now he is gone. I’m very sad. Unsure if I told him ENOUGH that I love him. I suppose he knew. I don’t even know if it matters really anyway.
Life will be so different without him. He was my Uncle, but more than that, he was my dad’s best friend, a family friend that was always there for you when you needed him, and a much loved, all-around good person.
He always came to every family event. When you were in crisis, he was there. If you needed help, he was there. There are lots of good memories I had about him. I know there are tons of them each person in our family could list.
We love you very much Uncle Ronnie. You will be missed.

Tammy, I’m soooo very sorry!!! I feel your pain! I’m pretty sure he knew that you loved him! And YES it does matter! You went there as often as you could to see him and spend time with him. I’m sure that meant the world to him! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Love, Gena
Thank you Gena. I appreciate it.
We will all miss him. I just wish that we lived closer. We love you and miss you. We are all praying for you. Let us know if you need anything. Rest In Peace Uncle Ronnie.
Tammy, i am very sorry about your uncle Ronnie, you always talked about him and what he meant to all of your family especially to your dad. May God comfort you and all your loved ones as only He can in your time of sorrow, love Oma
Thank you so much Oma. He did, and does still, mean a lot to us.
