Last week went well. I think we convinced Tony Au that the testing would be better done at Perseus. They also asked that we do SNMPv3 testing this week on Angus. There was also mention that we do it on Bert from Heidi. This seems a bit much but with the issue found today with the MIBs not compiling, it seems as if all of the test cases will be blocked anyway.

Kevin is working on VRRP while I am doing RMON testing now. We should have this completed this week. It is not certain if we can even attempt the SNMPv3 testing since the MIBs are broken. They don’t have a fix date for it since it was just entered. The issue is a P1 (High/Critical). Thursday is our official last day here since we have to be at the airport by about 06:30 on Friday morning.

Yesterday, I spent the day doing the testplan’s Maint/Diags section. We submitted several issues during the day. Network setup and configuration would be easier done in Round Rock.

Just before lunch today, I reported to Heidi that I had several minor issues in the BBI (Web Mgmt Utility) and was told that these were probably not going to be fixed in this release. I was then told that their (Blade) people even stopped reporting issues altogether. This is not acceptable. I then told her that there was a major security problem in the BBI. She shrugged it off as if it was not a problem. The issue is basically if one logs out of the interface, the back button can be pushed several times and then the person has admin privs. just like nothing ever happened.

We were also asked to do SNMPv3 testing. We said that we should be finishing the current testing by early next week. We offered to do whatever testing that is required.

ALL TIMES ARE PACIFIC STANDARD TIME!
Flight here. Got rental car about 14:00. Ate at IHOP. Arrived at Nortel at approximately 15:00. Got temp badge and set up laptops for use (ran cables and configured their IPs). Getting the badges required signing NDAs and other paperwork. We also had to watch a ten minute video on policy. We also had to run cables through their lab to get the laptops set up. We got in our rooms at the hotel at 17:53.

Tuesday morning 09:25 – Arrived at Nortel. Badges did not work. We had to wait for someone to walk out of the lab. We configured our switches to prepare for testing. I ran through the menuing system to familiarize myself with the use. We truthfully could not get anything accomplished due to lack of direction. At 12:00, we decided to get lunch. We went to lunch and then returned at about 13:45. During this time, we were talking to Tony Au and were instructed to get new badges that ours were “Daily”. So, each day, we have to get a new badge in the security building and each night turn in our old one. We were told that this will be the way until we get picture badges. We got back from the security department at about 14:15. I found one issue with the banner ranges and that is about all. It was not in the test plan but I was just running through the commands some more while Kevin configured the systems for test. Mike May at Perseus found this same issue at the same time I did. Kevin is going throught the test plan now and pointing out the items that we need and have to configure. We are going to have this information ready for the morning so they can retrieve it and configure it. Once that is complete, we feel strongly that the test plan can be completed in a week.
