We were messin’ around in PhotoBooth. She had to double-check and make sure my eyes didn’t really look like they did on the screen. It was funny.

My dad always said that Zoe was destined to be Miss America. This is the envelope of the card on her first birthday.

This was a couple of weeks before he passed away. Bummer.

We love and miss you Poppy!

So far, we haven’t done THAT much while here. Zoe has been making everything really difficult. Tammy said that Zoe is making up for all of the times she was just an angel. Tammy has been fighting a bunch with her. I try to help but usually get in the way.

We haven’t even seen downtown yet. Our adventures have only led us about two miles up the street. We will probably see downtown tomorrow.

On the gaming front… Vegas is not what I remember about 18 years ago. I used to come frequently while growing up and knew this place like the back of my hand. Everything paid off at some point. The cocktail waitresses would shove drinks down your piehole so fast you would drown. Today that is not so. It is difficult to even sit there and play for a little while before your funds are depleated. I get so thirsty that I get up and pay for drinks at the bar because I can’t afford to sit at the machines/tables that long.

Sadly, I have been thinking the same thing the entire time here: I would be doing better on the riverboats in Louisana! I don’t like the atmosphere there. I don’t like the staff. I don’t like the patrons. I DO like that I can occasionally hit 4 Aces on a video poker machine and just play for a while. I do that regularly. I have not done it once since we have been here. The whole place just sucks money from you. Things sure have changed!

So, with poor Zoe always upset and the crap luck here so far, things can only GET BETTER!

MyGym was a blast for Zoe. There were two instructors, Christy and Roxy. They had activities planned an going the entire hour. They arrange the place different every time. There were many kids that were all Zoe’s age. They incorporated music with the activities and made it really fun for the kids. Zoe left MyGym totally worn out. Even Tammy felt as if she had a workout.

The gymnastic place by the house was a real gym. There were extremely fit and well trained youngsters. It was impressive to see the level at which these children trained. The instructor was Erin and she was very good with Zoe. There were only two other kids in Zoe’s group. The facility was full with other age ranges of people doing different workouts. Unfortunately, it appeared as if Erin was always searching for activities for the kids. The place seems more geared for older kids. While Zoe had fun, she grew frustrated waiting for activities. We were only given 45 minutes also. We left the place and headed to McDonalds playland as Zoe was still full of energy.

After Tammy and I discussed it, we have decided that MyGym was better for Zoe at this time. It is more taxing on Tammy as she has to drive into Austin to take her and it will be more in fuel money too. We agreed to wait a year or two to move Zoe to this gym closer to the house when she is older and able to keep up with the older kids’ tempo and their patients. This is a case of Zoe’s well being and more of her level than convenience for the parents. We believe this will be the better choice in the long run for Zoe. Did I mention that MyGym was a blast?!?!?

So, while studying music theory last night, I played around for a minute in Photoshop. I made Tammy’s Avatar. It’s only so-so because I just spent a few minutes on it. Lemme know what you think…

Zoe sat in a booster (versus high chair) for the first time! She loved it and stayed in it. She looks like such a big girl.

Zoe is one year old. Her vocabulary consists of maybe 15-20 words (max) but she already says “Thank You!”.

I will probably have some video tonight if I get time.

I’m sure it won’t be her last.
